Know Your Audience (EN)

You have thought about increasing your sales, right?

You have thought about redesigning your logo, the slogan, maybe even the brand colors.

All of that in order to appeal to more people.

Well, let me save you a huge amount of time and nerves and tell you that none of this would really help.

The secret to more sales is not to reach a broader audience, but to …

… KNOW your audience BETTER.

Sounds simple right? But there is actually a vital point to be made here,
so follow along this article and let me show you in depth what could soon be a game changer for you.

If You Sell To Everyone, You Don’t Reach Anyone

Many businesses try to pretend that there’s no customer bias. They are convinced they can basically sell to everyone.

And if you have Coca-Cola Marketing budgets of hundreds of millions of euros, you might even be right. Just throw the tomato at the wall and see how much of it sticks.

But if that’s not the case, you’re only burning time and money trying to kind of force your product on a broader audience than you really need to.

Let me give you an example.

You decide to sell bottled water.

Now, you must be able to sell your product to everyone, right? Because everyone needs to drink water.

Yes and No. Yes, everyone needs water and therefore the whole world is your potential customer.
But on the other hand you now have to compete with literally every water company there is.

So No, that is not practical. You need to specify your customer base, by covering specific needs. Like having Magnesium in there for sports, or electrolytes because it sounds cool.

You get where I’m going with this. Otherwise you’re going to get crushed by companies that spend millions and millions of euros on their marketing campagnes.

He Who Knows His Audience Sells

The ad works best, when the viewer feels directly spoken to. When he/she feels understood, related to, offered a solution for a problem he/she has.

And how do we accomplish that? Simply by getting to know them.

Who are they? What are their interests? How do they speak? Maybe what political demographic do they tend to be? And the list goes on and on.

The more parameters you have, the better you can determine your customer base.

The better you know your customer base, the more specific you can set up your ad campaigns.

And that’s where social media marketing comes in as a handy tool.

It gives you all the data, you just need to interpret it correctly.

Do You Know Who You’re Selling To?

Do you use any data from your sales? Or do you speak to your customers?

What and how much do you know about them? And do you utilize it to scale your sales?

The answer to those questions is the key to more sales, i promise.

See you soon,
